🌱 Growing Hope: Supporting 1,000 New Coffee Plants in Indigenous Farmland
At Across the Sea Foundation, we’re excited to share news of a new and meaningful project—one rooted in growth, sustainability, and the power of community.
We’re proud to support Y’Men, his family, and their community as they begin planting 1,000 new Arabica coffee plants on their farmland. With the help of your generous donations, these plants have already been purchased and are ready to take root, marking the beginning of a hopeful journey. The total cost of this effort was just $700 USD—a powerful reminder that even a small amount can make a big difference when directed with purpose.
This isn’t just about growing coffee. It’s about building a future.
1000 Coffee Plants
Coffee is a vital cash crop for many families, yet for Indigenous farmers, having access to land and resources for both food and income-generating crops is often limited. This project makes it possible for Y’Men and his family to cultivate their land in a way that supports both nourishment and long-term economic stability.
What makes this project even more special is their commitment to polyculture farming—growing a variety of crops, including coffee and food, on the same plot of land. This method promotes healthier soil, a more resilient ecosystem, and greater food security for the entire community.
The coffee plants will begin their flowering stage in the coming months and are expected to bear fruit by the second year. It takes patience, care, and a great deal of hard work to bring coffee from seed to harvest. But for families like Y’Men’s, the effort is deeply rewarding.
For those of us enjoying a morning cup of coffee, it’s easy to forget the long journey each bean takes. Behind every harvest is a story of strength, teamwork, and determination. It truly takes a village to grow and care for these plants—and in return, they fuel the world with the energy we rely on each day.
We are incredibly thankful to our supporters for making this possible. Your contributions are not only planting seeds in the soil but planting seeds of hope for a stronger, more sustainable future.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
